Poverty is more than just a sum of economic symptoms: to Dr. Saul Cruz, it’s a surmountable problem. In “Armonia,” Dr. Cruz sets out to fight poverty with his nonprofit ministry, Armonia, in Mexico, and in doing so begins helping people to change their situations.

Focusing on education for indigenous Mexicans, The team at Armonia work to help their students transform their lives and escape poverty through hard work and an excitement for learning.

The film captures Cruz’s passion and spirit, while telling the personal tales of three students who overcame the odds with Armonia’s help.
